Wait, we can purify using the water tanks? I always get frustrated trying to purify mine with boiling in an open tank and setting a 0 germ sensor to open an airlock to drain it into another open tank to then pump and make a massive cooling system to get it to useable temperature, and..... wow, I feel like an idiot.

If you ever do this challenge again, you should prioritize the better toilets.. with 100 dupes, you would be producing a ton of extra polluted water to feed into electrolizers, simultaneously addressing your water and oxygen shortage problems 😅

I'm 350hrs in and this is one of the worst bases I've ever seen. You are choking your factory by splitting your single iron/copper plate line a million times. You are making this like there is limited space. The space if infinite. Don't be lazy. If you need iron or coppr plates, find an ore patch and smelt their own line.

Sounds like me if I could escape his reality.

Ich schreibe mal auf deutsch, da ich dich irgendwann mal hab Schweizerdeutsch reden hören mit deinem Sohn =) Ich habe aktuell das Problem dass meine steel-wires für die automation an der rocket platform schmilzen, sobald ich eine Rakete gestartet habe. Nun schaue ich durch deine Playlist und entdecke diese Episode hier. Nathan, ich habe Tränen gelacht.^^ Und ich bin froh, dass auch bei einem so erfahrenen ONI-Spieler wie dir einiges deutlichst schief gehen kann. Ich schaue deine ONI Playlist alle gerne und versuche gerade zum Thema Automation und design mir etwas bei dir abzugucken. Gruezi aus Deutschland =)

In case you're still wondering, I think the water explosion is caused by the water at the bottom of the planet being heavily compressed, up to nearly 2k per tile. Every once in a while it decides to "stretch" and uncompress itself down to it's normal 1k per tile :) Though yours is an especially bad case 😂

Im still in the very early game, how do you decide how many assemblers of each item are needed per belt for the main bus? Example: you use 4 gear unit assemblers per belt. How does the math work?

dont know why but it doesn't work for me at all, i'm building it the same way but for some odd reason it pumps water to the output and just never lets any through the liquid shutoff

You don't need all this. I'll try to explain the best way to get rid of germs in water. Place a reservoir in a chlorine room. Add your intake pipe to white on the reservoir which fills the reservoir (in case you are new) now on the output which is green. Place a shutoff valve which needs 10 powèr and a switch with automation to it with the white input down and green up( this is where clean water will come out from) now run a pipe from reservoir green to shutoff white and from white shutoff with white reservoir. This keeps the water going in a loop killing the germs. Now since the switch is off germy water will never go past the intake not unless you flip the switch on a germ pipe sensor to below 0. Wait until water is clean and that's it.

got back to the game after 2 years. i'm still going back to this design because it's so space and power efficient. It is prob one of the best designs ever made

Got 80 hours in the game and just automating blue sceince. This was a nice starter base. Cant imagine what a megabase would look like.
